Couples/Partners
As with individual therapy, working with couples and other types of partners begins with understanding your goals. Some partners come to therapy feeling stuck in long-standing patterns, while others are navigating a specific challenge or transition in their relationship. Many also seek therapy so that they are in the best possible shape to navigate a long-term commitment like marriage or to welcome a baby into their lives.
Our sessions will primarily focus on present-day dynamics and the emotions that arise during our work together. At the same time, we’ll explore the histories and experiences that have shaped each of you—including any past trauma and the nature of your early relationships with caregivers (your “attachment history”). This foundation helps deepen mutual understanding and compassion between partners.
